Count from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the size of the site. You drop two files by FTP, the clean-up happens on your side: nobody asks for your passwords, and you do not wait in line behind anyone.
The difference
Classic clean-up services all work the same way: you give them your FTP or SSH credentials, you open a ticket, and you wait for a technician to take care of you.
| Classic clean-up service | K-Shield | |
|---|---|---|
| Your credentials | You hand your FTP, SSH or cPanel access to a provider. | You give nothing. The tool runs on your server. |
| Getting started | You open a ticket and take your place in the queue. The first reply can take more than a day on entry-level plans. | You start within the minute, at any hour. |
| During the intervention | You do not see what happens. You get a summary afterwards. | You see every file, the reason for each decision, and you settle the doubtful cases. |
| Your data | Your files are copied to the provider to be analysed. | Nothing leaves your server. |
| If it happens again | One-off plans do not cover re-infections: a second attack, a second bill. | Your kit stays active. You start over as many times as needed, without paying again. |

What you buy
A tool that claims to solve everything will leave you alone at the first special case. The limit is written down before you pay.
Price
You buy the kit once for your site and it stays active: if you had to start over in six months or in three years, you do not pay again.
You run several sites? Write to us, pricing depends on the count.
You will decide afterwards, freely, whether your site should be watched daily.
If the kit cannot put your site back in service, it is refunded.

Questions
From a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the size of the site and the number of plugins. A small showcase site of ten pages or so is back within fifteen minutes; a shop with thousands of products takes longer.
A maintenance page is put up from the start, on purpose: a hacked site often serves pages that harm your visitors and your search ranking.
A complete copy of your files and your database is made before the slightest modification, then verified. Nothing is deleted: what gets set aside stays viewable and comes back in one click. If a page stops working after the clean-up, a button shows you which file caused it.
That is the expected case. The tool takes alone the decisions it is certain of and only asks you the questions that are yours — two on average, written in your language.
The only technical step is dropping two files by FTP. If you do not know how to do it, your host takes care of it in five minutes.
Because it costs you time — with classic services you wait for a technician to be available — and control: your credentials and your files pass to a third party, and you do not see what is done. We sell a tool, not an intervention.
You take the kit out and start over, without paying again. It is a tool you own, not an intervention you order. With one-off services, a second attack is a second bill, because they sell a technician's time.
